DIAMFAB is a Grenoble-based start-up created in March 2019 that develops diamond solutions for energy transition. The electronics paradigm is changing considerably: innovation no longer comes from the architecture of the component but from the material used to manufacture it. Indeed, silicon, historically used in high-power electronics, is now showing its limits and needs a successor. Thanks to its superlative properties, synthetic diamond is considered as the ultimate semiconductor material to manufacture converters capable of handling more power within the electrical distribution network or much more compact and lighter for embedded applications such as electric vehicles (80% lighter than a conventional converter using silicon components).
Thanks to its unique know-how in synthetic diamond growth, based on 30 years of CNRS R&D, DIAMFAB is today the only one to offer high value-added diamond wafers to manufacture the electronic components that will revolutionize the conversion of electrical energy. Our innovative technology is placed at a key stage in the diamond component manufacturing chain which is decisive for the final performance of the component.
Our ambition is to become a key and unavoidable player in the diamond industry for the electronics that we are participating to develop.
